Speaker profiles: 

GOG SOON JOO (DR) 

Soon-Joo has extensive experience in private and public sectors. She is currently the Chief Futurist and Chief Research Officer at the SkillsFuture Singapore Agency. Soon-Joo leads research and development projects in the areas of Future of Work and Future of Learning. Her research interests include capitalism in the digital economy, new economy firms, skills ecosystem and skills policies. Some of her more recent projects include the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled data analytic to predict the impact of technological adoption on the organisation of work and learning at workplaces, and the gig economy work arrangement and learning of professional occupations. When she is not busy thinking about the future, she paints to exercise her right brain. A strong advocate of inclusive growth, Soon-Joo volunteers her time with children from underprivileged families.

KENNETH G PEREIRE

Singapore-qualified Corporate Lawyer with considerable experience in assisting financial technology and start-up companies with their legal needs in Singapore and in the ASEAN region including capital raising documentation, commercial agreements, web-based legal issues, structuring advice, compliance and data management and protection.

WENDY LOW

Overall, the focus of Wendy’s practice is in copyright, trade mark, patent and confidentiality related disputes. She also has experience in patent prosecution work and provides IP and IT related advice to a range of clients including international conglomerates, SMEs, government‐linked organizations, media owners, TV artistes, hotels, art galleries, movie production houses, educational institutions, copyright licensing organizations, and providers of electronic commerce and internet services.

HUIFEN ZHENG

Huifen is a technology lawyer who has worked for various companies in financial services, telecommunications and semi-conductor manufacturing over the course of her career. She is deeply interested in the intersection of law and technology, and wrote her masters' thesis on the topic of the data privacy and the internet of things. She is currently the Asia-Pacific counsel for the online payments business of a global FSI.

    Jin Xu 

Jin a Director within Visa’s Digital and Mobile Product Development group. She manages a team that develops and maintains Visa’s secure software on web based mobile applications and payment chip card for internal and external customers around the world. Born and raised in China, Jin Xu pursued Computer Science in NUS and MIT. When she isn’t glued to a computer screen, she spends time playing with her kids, cooking for parents, and trying very hard not to be the worst tennis player in the family.
